A Walk in Bangkok: The Half-day City Tour

10:30 PM

A half-day city tour was part of our package with the travel agency. Since we arrived two days prior to the convention of my mom and her bestfriend, we got to experience the half-day tour twice. The first one was just us and another family while the second one was with their fellow club members. We went to two temples, the Gem Stone Factory, Leather Factory and Honey Bee Shop.

It was the King's birthday last December 6 so in preparation for his birthday celebration, some roads were closed. Hence, we weren't able to go to Wat Pho (Temple of the Reclining Buddha) and Wat Phra Kaew (Temple of Emerald Buddha) - the two temples that I wanted to visit. Oh, well. Hopefully next time! Instead, we went to Wat Benja (The Marble Temple) and Wat Intharawihan.

The entrance to Wat Benja.

Frogs and eels for sale!

Wat Intharawihan

Coconut ice cream. Yum!

If you're under time constraint, you can skip the Honey Bee Shop (unless you really want to buy some expensive honey). There are no pictures from the Gem Store Factory and Leather Factory, sorry!
